Life Lessons in Walking Away from a Career That Doesn't Serve You

There is so much blessing in walking away from things that don't serve you. I know it can be really hard, somewhat disorienting, and really scary. But there is so much blessing.

Nobody wants to be in a career where they feel unproductive or like they're not driving results so a lot of job seekers apply for hundreds of jobs to put themselves out there and network. Even though those strategies are outdated and don't drive results, people continue to do them because those efforts feed the ego. It feels better doing what everyone else is doing with no results than building a strategy or being intentional. That’s probably because sometimes the fear of not knowing what to do doesn't feel as good as saying, ‘well, I tried.’

One of the things that is core to the Mentor Me programs which are based on my approach to mentorship and my service to women through career development, and may be a reason why my mentees make so much money in their careers is that I teach them to detach their ego from their career outcomes.

This is a hard lesson because it requires discipline, strategy, and intentionality. And this requires sometimes walking away from things that don't serve you in your career.

The Mentor Me Accelerator program really helps women discover tangible outcomes and results in their career so that they can actually experience real success.

I can teach you how to apply for higher level, higher paying roles and actually get results in your job search. Getting actual results is the blessing in walking away from jobs that aren't serving us. We have to walk away from positions that look interesting but that are not going to pay us at the level that we desire. There's so much blessing in walking away.

We're doing that work now so we can be positioned to find and secure new roles. Find out how this program can drive the results you’ve been missing.
