Life Lessons in Salary Increase Strategies
Today, we're going to talk about how to increase your salary by a minimum of $2,000 a month using three strategies. Keep in mind, after working with me, women earn an average of almost $30,000 in salary increases.
First off, none of these strategies require you to get another degree. They don't require you to get another credential or certification. These strategies focus on using the skills, knowledge, talent, and expertise that you already have. So many of you are incredibly skilled. You already have the goods and years of experience. Maybe you already have the degrees.
But what you still need to learn is how to use the skills that you have to get what you want. That's our focus so let’s dive right in.
1. Speak to the sophistication of the problems you solve.
When you can properly speak to the intricacies and details of the types of problems you are able to solve, you help your current or future employers see you as the valued asset you truly are.
2. Speak to the value of the problems you solve.
You are an expert from your own unique set of experiences. By speaking to the importance and relevance of the problems you have been able to identify and resolve, you show the value of your impact and the results you have delivered.
3. Ask to be appropriately compensated for being a solution.
The skills, talent, and expertise you possess solve problems for your organization every day. By clearly articulating how your skill sets deliver solutions to your organization, you make a solid case for discussing appropriate compensation.
If you're a professional woman working in corporate, nonprofit, or educational leadership who needs support implementing these strategies, I invite you to work with me. Maybe you understand the strategies but realize you need somebody to plan with. You could benefit from having someone with experience walk you through rolling out these strategies. If you could use the confidence and assurance of working with a professional who can guide you as you make an ask of your supervisor or prepare to apply for higher-level roles, then you're in the right place to get that kind of mentorship. I'm accepting new mentees right now and I invite you to apply to the Mentor Me Accelerator.
