Life Lessons in How to Lead From Where You are at Work
I'm here today to talk to you about how to effectively manage up to lead from wherever you are in the organization and build authority in your career by leveraging manage-up principles to advance your career.
I'm here to tell you that what you say matters. Your work, your effort, and the contributions that you're adding to your organization absolutely matter. And when positioned well, when effectively managing up, you can make sure that the work that you're doing isn't in vain.
Let's discuss two strategies that can help you to lead from where you are at work.
First, managing up is about being aware and effectively communicating your work and capacity. You have to let share when you are at capacity and have no time to take on more work. You must also share when you are under capacity and can take on more work. You have to be aware and effectively communicate your capacity.
Strategy number two is building and maintaining strategic relationships. A big part of managing up, in general, is relationships. You need to build and maintain strategic relationships.
I teach women how to manage up in my mentor mastermind. If you need support that way and would benefit from mentorship, I invite you to schedule a call with me.
